Health food chain Holland & Barrett has announced another new store within the Real Estate Investors’ portfolio.
It has taken the ground and first floors at the company’s retail parade at 1062-1104 Warwick Road, Acocks Green, on a ten-year lease and follows the opening of a major outlet in Birmingham city centre at REI’s Gateway House on High Street.
A spokesman for Holland & Barrett said: “The Acocks Green premises occupy a busy high street location, which benefits from substantial footfall and a good mix of other quality retailers.
“It represents a significant investment and we are confident it will receive a warm welcome from shoppers.”
Ian Clark, senior asset manager at REI, said: “We are delighted at Holland & Barrett’s new venture – this is a further vote of confidence in our portfolio and the strength of the retail marketplace.
“Retail works in the correct environment. There are always challenges to overcome in a highly competitive sector but this deal effectively endorses our on-going asset management strategy.”
Holland & Barrett joins existing occupiers including Wilkinson, Boots, Argos, Card Factory and Lloyds Bank.
REI acquired the busy parade in June last year – disposing of Arden House for residential to focus on the stronger shopper and pedestrian flows.
Holland & Barrett stores are a familiar sight and total around 800 across the UK and Ireland. It can boast 145 years of experience in the health supplement industry.
