National property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has announced plans to open a new office in South Cumbria.
The company which has offices in 35 locations across the UK, more than any other commercial property consultancy, will open an office at the Cumbria Tourism Building in Kendal on the 15th November this year.
LSH’s expansion into the county follows the award of a £2.6m contract with South Lakeland District Council to deliver a full range of property services.
Director Richard Platt, who will head the new Kendal office said: “LSH prides itself on having the best footprint and local knowledge of any commercial consultancy in the UK. Cumbria is increasingly attracting inward investment in sectors such as advance manufacturing, nuclear and biopharmaceuticals so it makes great business sense for us to have a presence here.
“We will obviously be working with South Lakeland District Council and advising its estates team on estate management, but as more businesses choose to relocate here or expand their existing operations, it makes sense that we are on hand to advise them on issues like business rates, lease renewals, and property investment.”
LSH’s new office in Staveley, Kendal will open with eight staff though the company is aiming to create further jobs once the new office is established.
The Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership estimates that over the next 10 years, the county will attract over £25bn of inward investment in sectors such as advance manufacturing, nuclear and biopharmaceuticals.
