The Nottingham office of international law firm Eversheds is relocating to new premises in the city.
The firm, which is currently based at 1 Royal Standard Place in the city centre, has agreed a lease on the ground, first and second floors, totalling 19,000 sq ft, at Water Court, on Canal Street.
Eversheds has had a significant presence in Nottingham for a number of years. The firm will move to its new home in Autumn this year, following a fit-out of the building.
Formerly Victorian textile warehouses, Water Court has been comprehensively refurbished to provide high specification office accommodation. The property has retained many original period features, including exposed brickwork and oak roof trusses.
Mark Fletcher, Eversheds Nottingham office senior partner, said: “Eversheds has established a strong reputation in the region and has built a loyal client base over many years.
“The work space at Water Court will allow us to support our commitment to both our employees and our clients by providing a bright and digitally-enabled environment that supports flexible working and an open space plan. We are very excited about the forthcoming move.”
Knight Frank advised Eversheds on the letting.
Jamie Phillips, partner and head of office agency at Knight Frank, said: “Eversheds has been in its current offices for a number of years and so when the opportunity arose to review their existing and future accommodation needs, the firm decided to see what else was available on the market.
“Water Court is completely different to anything else in Nottingham and immediately stood out. Not only will it set Eversheds apart from its competition, it will provide a vibrant working environment for its staff and enable the firm to introduce new modern working practices.”
Phil Quiggin, director of office agency at Lambert Smith Hampton in Nottingham, who represented the landlord, said: “The fact that Water Court has been let so soon after completion on a long term deal, and to a major international company like Eversheds, clearly demonstrates that this is high quality accommodation in a very attractive business location. It will serve the tenant well for many years to come.”
