Plymouth City Council has resolved to grant planning permission to Thames Bank Property, advised by planning and development consultant Iceni Projects, for the £50 million redevelopment of the former Derry’s Department Store in Plymouth.
The 300,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme is set to rejuvenate the western edge of Plymouth and support the ongoing regenerative vision of the council. The redevelopment will include the delivery of 500 student accommodation beds (in a mix of clusters and studios), a 100-bed hotel, which will help accommodate the ever-growing tourist numbers in the city along with some 60,000 sq ft of commercial space that is primarily aimed at food and beverage providers.

The project is due to start on site in early 2017 and is estimated to complete in August 2018.
