The corporate finance team at accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP in Leeds has advised Derby-based Evolution Time Critical (“ETC”) on its acquisition by Metro Supply Chain Group in North America.
Led by M&A partner Jason Whitworth, the BDO team included director Sam Irving and manager James Mannion.
Metro Supply Chain Group, a leading Canadian-owned 3PL solutions provider, acquired the automotive and industrial services emergency logistics specialist, Evolution Time Critical, for an undisclosed sum. The deal gives Metro an opportunity to increase its market share with Evolution Time Critical’s globalised automotive supply chain.
Evolution Time Critical provides time sensitive global logistics solutions to automotive and industrial services industries to protect supply chain integrity. Just-in-time failsafe, emergency logistics expertise is an enabler for the higher risk strategies such as lean supply and reduced buffer stocks prevalent in the automotive sector. It is also becoming increasingly common for premium freight to be used strategically as a primary logistics route for high unit cost components.
Jason Whitworth, BDO M&A Partner said: “This is an excellent opportunity for ETC to join an ambitious and growing global logistics group, where ETC’s skills and sector knowledge will be supported by Metro’s global investment strategy.”
Brad Brennan, managing director at Evolution Time Critical, says: “We received fantastic hands-on support from our financial advisors through this process. The sector knowledge and understanding displayed by the BDO team along with its global reach helped identify and secure this strategic deal which supports the continued growth of Evolution.”
