Midlands property consultancy Innes England is celebrating after being named as the region’s Most Active Agent in a prestigious national competition for the ninth consecutive year.
The commercial property agency, which has offices in Derby, Leicester and Nottingham, has been awarded the title in the Estates Gazette Interactive 2015 deals competition after completing an average of more than eight deals a week throughout the year.
The firm topped the rankings in the office, industrial and investment sectors as well as walking away with the overall title.
Innes England also topped the rankings in the industrial and office sectors which helped them to secure the overall title for the East Midlands.
The EGi deals competition is an independent survey conducted by a research team, which covers commercial property transactions. It is designed to establish the agents completing the largest volume of deals throughout the year.
Tim Garratt, managing director at the firm, said: “To be awarded the Estates Gazette Most Active Agent in the East Midlands for nine years in a row is fantastic and testament to the hard work our team puts in across the region.
“Confidence has continued to return to the property market, meaning a strong performance across the region in 2015. Speculative development is well and truly back on the menu, particularly within the office market, retail rents are back to peak levels in prime areas and investment has remained steady – the story is a positive one.
“We hold a unique position in the region, with offices across the East Midlands, which has once again allowed us to secure this respected industry accolade.”
Throughout the region, Innes England completed nearly 450 deals across the industrial, office, retail, leisure, land and investment sectors for its clients.
Innes England was responsible for the off market sale of Poynt North – a 22,894 sq ft office building in Nottingham city centre – to Blenheim Chalcot to build a multi-million pound tech hub, Accelerate Nottingham.
In Derby, Innes England handled the letting of the 32,000 sq ft One Friar Gate Square to the University of Derby, which now houses its Department of Law and Criminology, as well as a host of industrial deals across the county.
The letting of 45,000 sq ft of office space at St George’s Tower in Leicester was also handled by the firm.
Tim Garratt believes the key to the firm’s nine years of success has been down to its in-depth knowledge of the regional markets and its commitment to delivering excellent results for its clients.
He added: “As a business we underwent a number of changes in 2015, ensuring that we are offering our clients the very best. For example, we have moved away from a traditional geographical set-up to one focused on workstreams which allows us to deliver a more streamlined service.
“By moving away from working from three geographical areas to a sector-led approach, we are able to leverage the expertise we have within the senior team here – and expand our reach outside of the region.”
To win the award, Innes England completed hundreds of deals in all categories and size bands in the East Midlands in 2015.
