Property consultants Alder King have let the first floor office accommodation at Blackbrook Gate 1 on Taunton’s Blackbrook Business Park to retirement housebuilder McCarthy & Stone.
The housebuilder recently announced the establishment of three new regional offices in the South West, North West and East Midlands as it looks to meet unprecedented growth for high quality retirement housing. It follows the successful launch of McCarthy & Stone’s regional office in North London in 2014, its first new regional office for 14 years.
The establishment of a Taunton office, led by a new senior management team with sales and land acquisition specialists, will enable the company to spearhead growth, particularly following the relaxation of planning rules enabling more homes to be built on brownfield sites.
Andrew Maynard of Alder King’s Taunton office said: “Blackbrook Business Park is strategically located off junction 26 of the M5 and just two miles from Taunton town centre so is ideally placed for McCarthy & Stone to access new development sites right across the South West.”
McCarthy & Stone, the UK’s biggest developer of retirement homes, has taken 5,180 sq ft of accommodation on the first floor at Blackbrook Gate 1. Alder King acted for Clarke Willmott. Other occupiers in the building include Brooks MacDonald and Francis Clark Accountants.
