Shulmans LLP, the leading Yorkshire corporate law firm, has appointed Stuart Lumb within its highly regarded Planning team.
Lumb, 33, has been recruited from Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. His specialities are in planning agreements, enforcement and policy and he brings a wealth of expertise in the completion of complex agreements under the Town and Country Planning Act and the Highways Act. In addition, he is experienced in advising numerous local authority planning committees and defending judicial review claims. His appointment further strengthens Shulmans’ highly-skilled Planning department, managed by the nationally-recognised, Amanda Beresford.
Lumb, who lives in Leeds, said: “The outstanding reputation of Shulmans was a strong incentive to join the firm and it is very exciting to become part of such a well-respected and hugely successful team.”
“I intend to focus on using my knowledge of both regional and complex agreements policy to benefit our current business and help further grow our client base.”
Tim Halstead, Shulmans’ managing partner, added: “We are delighted to welcome Stuart to Shulmans; he further enhances our position as a leading voice in the sector. This is a significant appointment for both the department and the wider-firm, aiding us in our ambitious development plans as we move into 2016.”
