Real estate adviser, DTZ, part of UGL Services, a division of UGL Limited, has agreed a 14,000 sq ft letting at an industrial estate in Gloucester to a growing automotive coatings business.
Carterdale Ltd has taken a warehouse / industrial unit at Riga Wharf, located between the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal and Bristol Road, on a 10 year lease. DTZ in Bristol, which is also the managing agent for the property, acted on behalf of the landlord, British Waterways. DTZ had been marketing the property for just three months prior to securing the deal.
The property comprises a detached unit with a large secure fenced concrete yard and 2,195 sq ft of office space.
Riga Wharf is located less than two miles south of Gloucester city centre and three miles from junction 12 of the M5 motorway in an established commercial area of the city.
Phil Cranstone, Senior Surveyor at DTZ in Bristol commented: “The property attracted a diverse range of enquiries due to its prominence and secure yard area. As a result, we managed to secure a tenant within a short marketing period. The unit offers a strong base for Carterdale to expand its operations, and keeps their growing business in the Gloucester area.”
Alan Matthews of Carterdale Ltd, which was previously based at Eastern Avenue, said of the move: “Riga Wharf was always the prime location with the yardage and space to enable the expansion and security that our automotive customer base requires, with the benefit of keeping our skilled employees local to Gloucester.”
