Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has taken a new 10 year lease on its offices at Brindleyplace in Birmingham.
The company has committed to remain at Four Brindleyplace, where it occupies 55,000 sq ft across three floors, until 2026. Quoting rent for Four Brindleyplace is £27 per sq ft.
Located in the award-winning Brindleyplace estate, which is owned by Hines and Lone Star, and asset managed by Hines UK, Moorfield Group and Hudson Advisors, Four Brindleyplace is one of just seven commercial office buildings in the UK to have been named Best of the Best at the British Council for Offices’ annual awards.
On the back of the completion of this deal, Hines has committed to replace many of the building’s central plant systems as well as installing a new access control system, refurbishment of the toilets, lifts and lift lobbies together with a contribution towards the enhancement of Deloitte’s office space.
This follows significant investment already made in the building over recent years, which has seen the upgrade and modernisation to the reception and fourth floor, enhancement of the building’s electrical systems and reconfiguring and expansion of the ground floor retail unit which was subsequently let to coffee chain Caffe Nero.
Raj Rajput, Hines UK, said: “Deloitte’s decision to remain at Brindleyplace and invest in their occupation over the next decade is fantastic news for both the building and the wider estate. This commitment showcases Brindleyplace as a class-leading location and demonstrates the ongoing desirability of the estate as a commercial destination.
“In a fast-moving commercial market, it is essential for us to ensure that the buildings at Brindleyplace remain current and desirable for prospective occupiers. By understanding what our occupiers are looking for we can ensure that Brindleyplace remains one of the UK’s flagship examples of successful urban regeneration.”
Deloitte is taking this opportunity to review its occupation to ensure the most efficient use of the space and will be investing in a multi-million pound refurbishment and fit-out of its staff and client areas to provide a world-class working environment to twin its London headquarters.
Pauline Biddle, Practice Senior Partner at Deloitte in the Midlands, said: “Brindleyplace has been our home for the last 14 years and we are delighted to have found a way to stay. Our UK Board is supporting us with a significant investment to ensure that we are fit-for-the future and I am personally very excited to see what we, as a whole practice, can create for ourselves and for our clients.”
Brindleyplace is a popular commercial location, with just 13,150 sq ft of space remaining in small suites split across Three and Four Brindleyplace, representing the only lettings opportunities available on the estate.
Brindleyplace boasts an extremely diverse mix of commercial tenants, including Deloitte, RBS, Deutsche Bank and Bilfinger GVA. A full range of bars, restaurants and leisure amenities is also available across the estate, including Café Rouge, the Handmade Burger Company, Bannatyne’s Health Club, and the recently opened Le Monde.
