2012 looks bright for local law firm

Merthyr Tydfil and Nelson-based solicitors practice, JNP Legal is looking to take on two new paralegals this month after winning a contract with BOE Publishing.

JNP Legal has calculated that due to the amount of work the contract will bring in it will need to take on two new members of staff at the beginning of 2012 and two more in a year’s time.

BOE Publishing supplies hospitals across the UK with treatment cards for patients free of charge, making their profit from selling advertising space. This contract gives JNP Legal exclusive rights over the advertising space on the back of treatment cards given to patients of the accident and emergency units at the University Hospital of Wales in Heath, Cardiff and Barry Hospital.

The rights to this space were previously owned by a claims referral company. BOE Publishing decided to put the contract out to tender in anticipation of the planned abolishment of referral fees announced by the Government in September. These changes to the current legislation are due to come into play in April 2012.

Eirian Davies, head of the personal injury department and a director at JNP Legal commented:

“We’re delighted to be able to continue expanding the business as a result of winning this contract. It’s a fantastic start to 2012 and as a relatively small firm it’s a big achievement for us. Securing a contract like this gives us some much appreciated stability as it means that we’re guaranteed a steady flow of business throughout the year.

“We’re looking forward to taking on two new paralegals to help us handle the increased volume of work. At JNP Legal we have a fantastic track record of retaining staff who join us as paralegals for many years after they qualify and we look forward to welcoming two new members to our team.”
