Leading property consultancy CBRE has announced it has secured a new letting at The Cornerstone Building in South Gyle Business Park on behalf of landlord PDPF.
Representing one of the largest office lettings of the year so far in west Edinburgh, engineering consultancy Blyth & Blyth Consulting Engineers has taken the top floor of The Cornerstone Building, comprising 11,844 sq ft of Grade A open plan office space, on a ten year lease. Blyth & Blyth is relocating from its current office in Westpoint, South Gyle.
The letting follows a period of extensive refurbishment at the property to provide high quality, Grade A office accommodation throughout, together with a comprehensive upgrade of the common areas, including the striking full height reception atrium.
Two floors remain available in The Cornerstone Building following the Blyth & Blyth deal, each extending to 11,500 sq ft.
Allan Matthews, director from CBRE, said: “It is great news that we can announce this deal, one of the largest so far this year in west Edinburgh. The building looks fantastic following the refurbishment so it is not surprising we managed to secure such a high quality tenant so soon after it completed.
“We’re also receiving significant interest on the two remaining floors and hope to announce further lettings soon.
“Generally we’re starting to see more activity in the west Edinburgh market, and with no new planned development in the short to medium term, it’s anticipated that well located, well specified buildings will let, and a bit of upward pressure on rents will follow which is good news for landlords.”
The Cornerstone Building is situated in South Gyle Business Park, Edinburgh’s premier business park location. CBRE, together with Ryden, is also marketing another building at the park, Broadstone, comprising 35,000 sq ft, and is seeking a single tenant for occupation.
CBRE represented the landlord PDPF whilst Ryden acted for Blyth & Blyth.
