Acting on behalf of the owners of Edison Park, the Swindon office of Keningtons have sold a 2.3 acre site to the Disabilities Trust, who were represented by Jones Lang LaSalle.
The Disabilities Trust simultaneously entered a Development Agreement with Leehampton Developments to build a specialist Independent Hospital for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust.
Jeremy Sutton, a partner at Keningtons who helped put the deal together for both the site owners and Leehampton Developments commented: “There has been an awful lot of work involved in bringing this facility to Swindon going back to mid 2010 when the Trust first identified Swindon as their preferred location.”
Mike McPeake, Development and Infrastructure Manager at the Disabilities Trust adds “The hospital, once built will be single storey and will provide rehabilitation and treatment for people who have unfortunately suffered brain injuries in accidents. The Swindon hospital will be our second new build in the country following on from Glasgow which was opened in 2010. Swindon was chosen for the Central/ South West region due to its excellent road communications.”
Mike continues: “We have worked together with Leehampton Developments on the design of the building and to secure planning and we look forward to them delivering the completed development.”
