Acting on behalf of a private client, NG Chartered Surveyors has let a 3,583 sq ft in Ilkeston to expanding bakery business.
Frank Roberts & Sons, which is headquarted in Cheshire, has doubled the number of sites it has in Ilkeston following the addition of the unit, which it will use a distribution facility, at Unit 2, Mercian Park, Manners Industrial Estate.
Sunny Landa, director at NG Chartered Surveyors, said: “This was a very satisfying deal to be involved in. On behalf of our client we achieved a very healthy rental value for the property, which only goes to show that demand for good quality industrial units really is picking up.
“The Manners Road Industrial Estate is proving ever-more popular, and this property wasn’t on the market too long before the new tenants snapped it up.
“We’re particularly pleased to have worked with Frank Roberts & Sons on the deal. It’s a firm which is truly committed to Ilkeston and we wish them well on their forthcoming expansion.”
Frank Roberts & Sons has a history stretching back to 1887. Now supported by the fourth generation of the Roberts family, with Mike, Julia and Lindsay Roberts all involved with business, the company continues to expand and innovate, producing over 2 million loaves and bread rolls every week. It also owns Aldreds bakery in Ilkeston.
Rob Newton, facilities manager at Frank Roberts & Sons, said: “The move came about after we outgrew our premises on Manners Avenue, and it will mean we can meet the demands of our customers and offer them a wider range of products.
“Working with Sunny and the team at NG on the deal was a very simple process. They were there every step of the way, and the entire process really couldn’t have been easier.”
The property occupies a prominent position on the established Manners Industrial Estate in Ilkeston which affords ease of access to both Junctions 25 & 26 of the M1 Motorway.
