With Rugby World Cup fever building in Cardiff, TBX Ltd has launched a pop up venue in the city centre, which opened on the 18th September.

The Rugby Club is situated on the lower ground floor of Glam nightclub on Greyfriars Road.

Featuring two large grandstands and a bar in the middle, the venue has been kitted out with AstroTurf to recreate an indoor stadium experience.

Open for all Rugby World Cup games, The Rugby Club will be free to enter and will have capacity for up to 300 people.

The venue, which will generate up to 50 jobs, has been created in collaboration with GPC Building Services, an innovative pop up design team from TBX Ltd and Heineken.

Nathan Gee, general manager of The Rugby Club, said: “It’s fantastic that Cardiff will be hosting some of the highly anticipated Rugby World Cup games. Cardiff is a mecca for rugby fans and players alike. There are very few other places where fans are so drawn to a stadium that sits at the core of the city centre.

“We wanted to provide a unique experience for those who have missed out on a ticket to the games so fans can share their exhilaration and love for rugby in a venue which is unlike any other bar in Cardiff.

“When customers enter The Rugby Club, they will instantly feel like they are at the stadium with the grandstands and AstroTurf.

“We’re thrilled with the finished product and would like to thank all the companies that have helped us achieve our vision.

“Whilst we do have a large capacity, we would recommend customers book or arrive early to ensure they get a seat and are able to fully enjoy the true experience.

“This venue is the closest you will get to being at the stadium without a ticket.”

Neil Williams, brand manager for Heineken UK, said: “Heineken UK is excited to be involved in Cardiff’s unique Rugby World Cup Pop up Bar. The Rugby Club is situated in the heart of Greyfriars Road and offers an indoor stadium feel with astroturf, grandstands, hot dogs and, of course, ice cold Heineken on tap!”
