The fast growing supermarket chain, Lidl, has commenced construction of a 500,000 sq ft warehouse on the outskirts of Southampton that will create hundreds of new jobs. The warehouse is being constructed on a 28 acre site at Adanac Park adjacent to the M271 at Nursling.
Oliver McGuinness, Regional Director of Lidl says “The ground works are already well underway and the piling rigs have just started on site. When the new warehouse opens in October 2016 it will create hundreds of new jobs and Lidl will be saving 1,000’s of motorway road miles as we replace lorry deliveries that currently come from Weston-super-Mare and London.”
Andrew Archibald, Director of agents Keygrove Chartered Surveyors who sold the land on behalf of Barker-Mill Estates says “this new warehouse will serve the south coast and Lidl are actively seeking more supermarket sites of 1.5 – 2 acres to meet customer demand.”
