A leading parcel, pallet and distribution company has opened a new West Midlands base, creating 40 jobs.
Countrywide Freight Ltd has moved into Building 56, Bays 2 and 3, at The Pensnett Estate, Kingswinford, after being asked by one of its major clients to provide it with a dedicated operation to service Dudley, Wolverhampton and Walsall areas.
It has signed a 10-year lease agreement with London & Cambridge Properties (LCP), which owns and manages the site, for the 21,927 sq ft unit.
Mike Crookes, group commercial and marketing director, said LCP worked with them to find the ideal premises.
“As part of our agreement with our client, we had to set up the distribution centre and begin operations very quickly,” he said. “We looked at several sites around the West Midlands and LCP was very helpful in finding the right unit for our needs.
“We had specific criteria that a unit had to meet and Building 56 met them, which was great for both us and our client. We’ve also been able to employ local people in a range of roles, including office, distribution, and depot.”
Andrew Preston, industrial property manager at LCP, said: “Time was of the essence for Countrywide Freight and we were very pleased to be in a position to offer the company the right premises for its requirements.”
