Former DTZ Associate Director, Peter Carroll, has joined the Professional Services team at FHP, Nottingham, as a newly appointed Associate Director, adding another experienced surveyor to the multi platform property consultants.
Peter comes as another handpicked employee at FHP, being an expert in the field of Landlord and Tenant – rent reviews, lease renewals, etc, as well as having offered valuation and asset management advice to the likes of the Canal and River Trust. In addition to the retail, office and industrial sectors of the market, Peter also advises upon the leisure sector, where he is aided by a strong operational background.
After graduating with a degree in Urban Estate Management from the University of Wales, his reputation and experience has consistently evolved, allowing him to excel in his previous role at DTZ, where Peter played a part in developing DTZ’s ability to deal with larger corporate contracts, increasing the depth of service in property consultancy and in the leisure sector in particular.
Peter commented:
“I’ve got quite a mixed background – both in operations as well as in property – which I find very useful in consultancy because it enables matters to be viewed from the clients’ perspective, which adds value to the service offered.
I think my skills are very well suited to client consultation where my attention to detail enables me to not only quickly understand and deal with complex issues, but also to offer clients broader advice upon strategic asset management in order to improve returns, which is an area in which I have a demonstrable track record. Given the FHP ethos I feel there is an even greater opportunity for me to do that here than in my previous role at DTZ.”
Peter’s varied background complements the diverse nature of FHP’s Professional Services team, which has grown significantly over the last ten years or so, offering advice, amongst others, in the areas of valuation, landlord and tenant, business rates and compulsory acquisition, with Peter becoming the tenth member of the team.
It is not only Peter’s expertise and presence within the industry that excites Andrew Chapman about working with him:
“Within five minutes of meeting Peter, I knew we had located not only a truly exceptional surveyor that would enhance the skills set of our department, but one that truly shared our ethos and would offer clients wide ranging and comprehensive advice that would assist them in fulfilling their objectives.
Whilst Peter’s impressive track record in lease consultancy will enable us to build upon our existing Landlord & Tenant presence in the market, he also brings with him an opportunity to develop our expertise in the leisure and licensed premises sector, which will complement further FHP’s already strong agency presence and further assist in our desire to offer clients ‘a one stop shop’ in this ever changing sector.”
