St. Modwen has been given a green light for its plans to build two new industrial units at Centurion Park, Tamworth, bringing forward employment opportunities to the area.
Having been given the go ahead by North Warwickshire Borough Council, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist will now push ahead with the speculative development of the warehouse buildings creating up to 260 jobs.
Work on the first high quality 52,500 sq ft unit is due to begin next month, which will be followed by the construction of a 153,000 sq ft unit, creating an additional 200,000 sq ft of employment space at Centurion Park, situated adjacent to junction 10 of the M42.
St. Modwen has been investing in Tamworth for more than 20 years. The area has since grown and is now recognised as a logistics and distribution hub for the Midlands.
Jonathan Green, development surveyor at St. Modwen, said: “Centurion Park is one of the most sought after locations in the Midlands region due to its superb transport links. Gaining planning permission for these two new units means that we can go some way towards addressing the demand for space.
“We are already receiving calls from businesses interested in the space, which will create employment opportunities for light industrial, storage and distribution industries.”
