An ambitious Birmingham surveying practice has taken space in a top city address after outgrowing its previous home.
Pennycuick Collins has taken 5,300 sq ft at 54 Hagley Road after seeing staff numbers double in the past 10 years.
The multi-disciplinary practice was previously based at 9 The Square off Broad Street and partner Richard Moxon said the move the to the grade A building reflected the company’s confidence for the future.
He said: “Since this business was founded some 35 years ago it has slowly but surely been building its client base and reputation and so when we outgrew our previous home we decided to look for a new address that properly represented our ambitions as a business.
“When we moved to 9 The Square we were rattling around the office with four partners and 20 staff. Today we are five partners and 40 staff and continuing to look for growth opportunities.
“Taking the additional space at 54 Hagley Road will allow us to do that while also offering the kind of high quality office space that will not only help us recruit and retain the best staff but also send a positive message to the market about our direction of travel.”
Pennycuick Collins’ started life as a residential managing agent but has grown into a full service consultancy with a residential division – which includes a property auction team as well as a lettings and sales team – a rapidly growing building consultancy team while also providing services in all aspects of commercial property from valuation to property management.
The company’s five partners are Richard, Alan Herbert, Peter Dening, Adrian Roddick and Charles Gillett.
The building has recently undergone a £17m refurbishment and other recent occupants include patent attorneys Avidity IP and engineering consultancy Nolan Associates.
Joint agents on the building are GVA, GBR Phoenix Beard and Jones Lang LaSalle.
