Knight Frank has reorganised and strengthened its mixed-use Development Consultancy arm in the South West with the addition of new specialists and services.
As well as its existing residential and commercial agency expertise, the department has added to the team James Pullan to advise on student property, Andrew Theobold on hotels, Duncan Thomas on public sector and Philip Brown on affordable housing.
The new personnel help create a 12-strong Knight Frank team advising local councils, government agencies, institutions, private landowners and developers and the house building industry in the South West on all strategic aspects of mixed use property development.
Tony Nicholas, the head of the Knight Frank Bristol office, said: “We have a strong reputation in the region for the advice and consultancy support we provide, from the 550,000 sq ft mixed use regeneration scheme at Wapping Wharf in central Bristol to helping to find a long-term property partner for Torbay Council.
“The additional specialists being added to the team will enable us to broaden the scope of the support we provide, and reflect the increasingly diverse nature of large developments in the region. Most major developments today are mixed use and this additional expertise will enable us to give the very best advice on the type of development, funding, best mix of units and financial feasibility for any scheme.
“This level of expertise will be particularly important given the likely disposal of assets by the public sectors in the next few years.”
Knight Frank’s track record in development consultancy in the South West also includes advising Plymouth City Council on the residential, office and retail mixed scheme at Plymstock Quarry; strategy on the rationalisation of 200,00 sq ft office space at The Pavilions in South Bristol; marketing and consultancy advice to seek a development partner for the 764 acre mixed use site at Wichelstowe, Swindon, and the Royal London Asset Management Glassfields scheme in Bristol City Centre where Knight Frank is currently providing development consultancy on over 300,000 sq. ft. of mixed use accommodation.
