SEGRO, Europe’s leading developer and owner of industrial space, is pleased to welcome Blatchford, a global supplier of prosthetic and orthotic products and services to its Kingsland Business Park in Basingstoke. The company is doubling its R&D investment and has leased 30,700 sq ft on a 15-year lease to meet its new space requirements,
Blatchford has taken one of the four Antura units at Kingsland Business Park, and will be using the building for its R&D work, as well as creating new office space for its head office team, a patients’ clinic and additional warehousing space. SEGRO will be constructing air conditioned fitted offices on a new mezzanine floor in the building.
Blatchford, which already has a presence in Basingstoke, has a number of new product launches planned, including its first microprocessor-controlled foot, along with more electronics-based innovations.
CEO, Stephen Blatchford, commented: “We were looking for new premises which would provide the space we need for our exciting R&D growth plans and a new base for our head office team. The Antura unit was the obvious choice, in terms of its size and appearance, providing an attractive building which will give the right impression to our UK and international customers.”
Chris Davies, SEGRO leasing manager, commented: “Blatchford has been based in Basingstoke for 49 years, and SEGRO is delighted to be supporting their expansion plans. The Antura unit is ideal for their needs, providing the R&D and office space they require, as well as an easily accessible location for customers and visitors to the patient clinic, which will also be sited here.”
Located in Bond Close, Kingsland Business Park, the modern, well-specified, detached production/warehouse building has feature curtain wall glazing, first floor office space, ground floor reception area and 80 car parking spaces. The scheme is around two miles north-east of Basingstoke town centre and three miles from Junction 6 of the M3.
Kingsland Business Park is an established industrial/warehouse location which is home to a wide range of occupiers including City Link, Berry Bros. & Rudd, Banner Business Services, GTK UK, Antalis and Capricorn Automotive.
Hollis Hockley acted for SEGRO in the letting and Blatchford was represented by London Clancy.
