Michelle Stewart has been appointed to the board of Berry Recruitment Group (BRG), the company has announced.
Michelle co-founded Wild Recruitment in Portsmouth, Hants, in 2001 and Wild was acquired by BRG ten years later.
The Wild brand was so successful it was retained after the sale and has now extended to the group’s Poole and Milton Keynes’ locations.
Michelle has responsibility for BRG’s new finance and senior recruitment division, Antony Berry Associates, which is showing encouraging early results.
She is also overseeing the integration into the group of new London acquisitions Headway Recruitment and The Plus Team.
BRG’s board appointed Michelle to their number in recognition of all her achievements at Wild Recruitment and the positive impact this has had on the group.
Chairman Tony Berry, who heads the nine-strong board, said: “Wild was a successful company when we acquired it and Michelle has continued to develop the business at a rapid pace.
“She has made such a positive impact on the whole company that it was completely natural for her to step up.
“Michelle’s energy and ideas will help us to continue to grow both organically and through acquisition within commercial recruitment.”
BRG is headquartered in St Albans, Herts, and now operates from 30 branches across England and Wales, employing more than 180 people. Turnover this year is projected to be £56m.
Michelle said: “It is a real honour to join the board of BRG, which is a company that is highly profitable and growing quickly.
“The company has superb people in all places – from the bottom up to the top – and the Wild brand that I helped create has continued to prosper and grow.
“BRG is hugely ambitious and that is reflected across the whole board. Exciting times are ahead.”
