Award highlights IT excellence in Wales

Leading recruitment and training agency Acorn, and one of its most successful IT partners, Sigma Systems, are celebrating after the company was recognised as ‘One to Watch’ in the prestigious 2015 UK Best Companies.

Sigma Systems, which has a Research & Development Centre in Cwmbran and employs 30 staff, is the leader in catalog-driven, Idea-to-Install software products for communications, media and high tech companies.

The 14th annual ranking of Britain’s motivated workforces, and its appearance each year, is now a highly anticipated event in the business calendar. It is widely acknowledged as the most extensive research into employee engagement carried out in Britain. What differentiates this study is that all the scores and ratings compiled by these lists are based completely on employee opinions.

Acorn and Sigma Systems have had an excellent working relationship for a number of years with Acorn placing 20 IT professionals across the company.

Dave Sadler, Manager of Acorn’s IT Division said: “We would like to congratulate Sigma Systems, one of our closest IT partners, on this well-deserved recognition. Certainly in south Wales the company is viewed with a great deal of respect and there is no question that we are able to attract the finest quality of candidates to work there.

“It is through links with companies like Sigma that we have been able to grow our own reputation for IT excellence and we hope that our relationship continues to flourish.”

“This is a fantastic achievement for everyone at Sigma.  We truly value the importance of our people and the great work they do every day.”  said Jocelyn Bryce, Vice President Human Resources, Sigma Systems. “Our culture and values are at the heart of everything we do at Sigma and have been the foundation to us achieving such great successes over the last year.”

“This one is special,” said Tim Spencer, President and COO, Sigma Systems. “It’s outstanding when people and groups outside of the organization recognize the importance we place on employee satisfaction. It is a hundred times better when it is our own people responding to the market and saying they are proud and happy to be a part of this family.”
