New jobs could be created through the redevelopment of a former high-tech manufacturing facility in Lincoln.
Chartered Surveyor Banks Long & Co have announced that it had sold Dowsett House on Sadler Road to Castle Square Developments Limited.
Now this superbly situated building is poised to be remodelled by the Scampton-based company and its development partner Stirlin Developments – signalling the promise of future employment opportunities.
Castle Square Developments Chairman John Lockwood said: “We were interested in this site as soon as we knew it was on the market. It comprises good quality freehold land, of which there is a limited amount in Lincoln.
“We intend to redevelop it and have already achieved outline planning consent that will allow it to be used for car sales. This may or may not be its eventual use due its excellent location and the amount of interest being shown in the premises by various parties,” said Mr Lockwood.
Whatever its future designation, new jobs are almost certainly on the horizon.
Castle Square Developments was unable to say when redevelopment work might start, however, this is expected to get underway sooner rather than later.
“I would like to add that it has been a pleasure dealing with Banks Long & Co in respect of this matter, as always,” said Mr Lockwood.
Stirlin Developments Managing Director James Kirby said: “We are primarily freehold developers and we struggle to acquire freehold land, so when an opportunity like this crops up we tend to move quickly.
