Pick Everard has scooped a regional property award for its work in bringing Formula E’s global headquarters to the East Midlands.
The project, which was completed earlier this year, fought off stiff competition to take the Construction Project of the Year award at the Insider East Midlands Property Dinner on Wednesday 24th September.
The multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering partnership was a key part of the swift negotiation, planning and construction of the brand new Western Paddock Complex at Donington Park that allowed Formula E – the world’s first fully electric racing series, to base its global headquarters along with ten international racing teams at the circuit.
Duncan Green, partner at Pick Everard, said: “The Western Paddock Complex project was a hugely exciting one for us to be involved with as a firm and something that most people can only dream of.
“Bringing something this big to the East Midlands is hugely significant to the region, and we are very proud to have been able to deliver the project under what were extremely challenging timescales.
“Had it not been for the combined efforts of all the partners – Donington Park Racing Ltd, the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership, Vinci and North West Leicestershire District Council – we would not have been able to ensure that the new facilities were ready in time.
“Winning this award is recognition of the tireless work put in by everyone involved in the project and for bringing such an exciting organisation to the region.”
Pick Everard fought off competition from some of the Midlands’ finest at the awards ceremony, which took place at The Belfry Hotel in Nottingham on 24 September.
