Microlise, the transport management solutions firm based in the East Mids, has reported sustained growth in the UK and internationally – and a 19% rise in staff numbers at its Eastwood HQ.
The company, which is a market leader in the transport telematics sector, says that it has achieved a sixth successive year of revenue increase and its investment in research and development has made a significant contribution to its success in terms of staff growth. It now employs around 250 people at its Eastwood base near Nottingham.
Nadeem Raza, Microlise managing director, said: “Microlise is a transport technology success story on an increasingly impressive and expanding international level. Our people are at the very heart of these achievements and their commitment and passion around what they do continues to drive us forward.
“To support continued growth, Microlise has significantly invested in its team, particularly in the area of research & development where 70% of new hires have been deployed. The company operates a ‘Students Year in Industry’ programme to provide opportunities for young people and this has resulted in six interns being offered full time positions at the end of their university courses.”
Over the past six years, Microlise has seen rapid uptake of the company’s products which assist in vehicle fleet performance, journey management and proof of delivery across vehicle fleets such as HGVs and delivery vehicles. Microlise products enable its customers to reduce operating costs and environmental impact by maximising the efficiency of their transport vehicles.
Microlise clients include manufacturers, logistics operators and vehicle lease providers. As a result of deals with leading vehicle manufacturers such as DAF and MAN UK, and work with lease hire companies, around 50% of HGVs sold in the UK this year will come pre-installed with Microlise telematics technology.
“The Microlise success is in line with last week’s figures that the East Midlands is the fastest-growing region in the UK so far this year – with exports on the increase and unemployment figures falling. Microlise likes to feel it is very much part of this regional success,” added Nadeem.
Microlise products now feature in more than 140,000 vehicles in the UK and internationally, operating across 139 countries in total and supporting 28 different languages.
Microlise solutions help transport operators across all sectors to reduce fuel usage by up to 15%, reduce accident rates and insurance premiums, improve customer service, reduce fleet size and ensure driver safety.
Earlier this year, Microlise ran the Microlise Transport Conference, the success of which has cemented the company’s position as the leading provider of telematics solutions to transport operators in the UK. The 2014 conference saw more than 600 transport professionals attend the Ricoh Arena in Coventry to hear about the latest developments within the transport industry. Plans for the Microlise Transport Conference 2015 will be announced soon.
