High level networking group, Woko Woco has teamed up with their partner hotel, the stylish Radisson Blu, Cardiff, in an effort to give something back this Christmas in support of children’s charity, Barnardos.
Over 120 guests who attended the inaugural Woko Woco Christmas Ball were asked to bring along a gift to the event which was held on Friday 2nd December at the four-star, city centre hotel.
In further support of the cause, the Radisson Blu will have a donation box in a prominent position in their Filini Bar throughout December.
General Manager of the Radisson Blu, Cardiff, Sally Hughes said: “There are thousands of children across south Wales who will be going without this festive season and we hope that this gesture will make a small difference to some south Wales children this Christmas.
“We were overwhelmed by the efforts made by the guests, Santa’s sack with full to the brim! Myself and the Woko Woco founders plan to visit the Barnardos centre with Santa to give out the gifts.”
As well as asking guests to bring along a gift, there was also a grown up ‘Santa’s grotto’ at the ball, where party goers had the opportunity to give a discretionary donation for sitting on Santa’s knee.
Co-founder of Woko Woco, Nigel Greenaway said: “We would like to thank all of our guests who donated some fantastic gifts. Woko Woco prides itself on being different from your average networking group and rather than the typical charity raffle we thought we’d try something new! This was the first Christmas party since Woko Woco launched and was a storming success and the Radisson Blu was the perfect venue.”
Situated in the heart of Cardiff city centre, The Radisson Blu, Cardiff, offers six flexible state-of-the-art event rooms suitable for business and leisure complete with an expert events team and the latest A.V equipment.
