National commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has acquired a substantial warehouse on a prime site in Leicester for one of the UK’s leading distribution, storage and e-commerce providers. The deal is the biggest modern warehouse letting in Leicester this year.
The facility – Unit 3, Radar Road – is being taken over by POS Direct Ltd, who provide specialist fulfilment, e-commerce, warehousing, distribution and stock control services across a variety of industry sectors. The company, which has five other facilities in the Leicester area, is expanding to accommodate anticipated growth in the next few years.
The 70,110 sq ft building has a minimum height of nine metres, a secure service yard, single level access, five dock loading doors and offices. It fronts the A563 Western Distributor Road, near to the A47 roundabout. Nearby occupiers include Crown Bevcan and Midlands Co-operative.
As well as acquiring and agreeing the lease terms on behalf of POS Direct from landlords Cert Octavia PLC, LSH provided building consultancy advice. The landlord was advised by Burbage Realty and Colliers CRE.
Geoff Gibson, Director in LSH’s Leicester office said, “This is an excellent, well-located modern building which should serve POS Direct well. Supply is tight at the moment and there are very few modern, high quality 50,000-plus sq ft units available.”
Roger Crosse, managing director of POS Direct said, “This is a high quality building which is exactly what we were looking for to accommodate future growth. We are very excited about this next phase of development for the company LSH surpassed expectations in acquiring the building for us on competitive terms with a short lead time.”
