Director of East End Foods Jason Wouhra will share his family business story as guest speaker at a free event for family and owner managed businesses when it returns to the West Midlands this month.
The Families in Business (FiB) Ask the Adviser event will be back in the West Midlands at Newhall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield on Friday 16th May.
The event gives family businesses the rare opportunity to meet an array of hand-picked professional advisers and family business experts for a series of one-to-one meetings, with no obligation and totally free of charge.
“As part of the fast-paced, highly enjoyable morning in which advisers are on hand for family businesses to ask their confidential questions, Jason Wouhra will share his personal story of being part of a fast growing, highly successful family business,” explains Dani Saveker, CEO of Families in Business, which has its head office in the West Midlands.
Founded over forty years ago by Jason’s father and his four brothers, East End Foods plc is today one of the UK’s leading spice, lentil and rice specialists, with an annual turnover in excess of £180m. Jason Wouhra has worked in the family-owned business since 1988.
Dani adds: “Family businesses taking part in FiB’s Ask the Adviser events across the UK have unanimously voted the format as ‘fantastic’, as the concept is a time-efficient, focused opportunity for them to gain succinct, impartial, relevant advice from advisers who understand the unique challenges that face a family business.
“Places for family business representatives are free of charge, but these are limited so we would urge them to book as soon as possible.”
Advisers taking part in the 16th May event include accountants and business advisors Smith Cooper, Barnett Ravenscroft Wealth Management, Else Solicitors, Pertemps and Yorkshire Bank.
“We appreciate that hard-working family business owners and leaders are busy, and so the format of Ask the Adviser is fast-paced and focused on making it possible for them to access the best possible advisers who appreciate the issues that can impact them as individuals, businesses and families,” says Dani.
Ask the Adviser West Midlands runs from 8.30am to 1pm on Friday 16th May 2014; for more information and to reserve a place: [email protected]. The event will support Jason Wouhra’s chosen charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
