Sinatra’s, the popular Nottingham bar and restaurant, has been sold to renowned bar operator Simon Patterson, in a deal brokered by John Harlow Insolvency and Corporate Recovery.
Simon, who is a director of the Moleface Pub Company, which runs high-end pubs throughout Nottinghamshire, has vast experience in the sector having also been part of the Fat Cat Cafe Bars group, which, along with a colleague, he set up after leaving university.
Simon says: “I’m delighted to have completed the deal to take over Sinatra’s. What we have here is an established destination venue, and we intend to build on that. We’ll be making a few changes to the interior, with an extended bar and seating area, as well making subtle alterations to the restaurant.”
Former owner Sandy Butcher closed Sinatra’s in October, after trading for 17 years. The bar and restaurant is a popular lunchtime venue for the city’s business community. However, a combination of poor weather and increased competition saw the business struggle over the last 18 months.
Simon adds: “When I saw that Sinatra’s had become available, it was an easy choice to make, and the deal went through very quickly. I’d like to thank John Harlow Insolvency for working hard to complete the deal in a discrete and thorough manner, and my law team of Gavin White and Graham Green at Fraser Brown.”
Simon and his team have already opened Sinatra’s, and were overwhelmed with the response. Simon says: “We opened the restaurant on Saturday 7th December and without any advertising managed to turn around 75 covers – which is an amazing start. I’d like to praise all the staff for their hard work at such short notice. It bodes very well for the future.”
John Harlow, of John Harlow Insolvency and Corporate Recovery added: “I am delighted as liquidator to have been able to sell the business and to have achieved the sale quickly, to enable Simon to be in and trading before Christmas.
“The fact that we were able to achieve this is in no small way due to the efforts made by my team, the Agents and Valuers, Malcolm Good and Alan Crozier of Eddisons; Chris Murratt and Vicki Dunstall of Actons, both Nottingham firms. I’d also like to make special mention of Richard Cox from Nottingham City Council for his support and assistance in relation to the assignment of the lease.”
Simon has also recently been part of the team which set up the Candy Stripe bar, club and Pizzeria in Leicester.
