Independent multi-utility services provider, Energetics, has relocated to a new office in the Midlands as it forges ahead with plans to increase the number of electricity and gas connections it makes in the region by a third and to double its UK-wide workforce to more than 400 employees by 2013.
An independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) with more 1,000 utility networks across the UK, Energetics competes with industry giants like Western Power, Scottish and Southern Energy and UK Power Networks.
The energy firm provides an end-to-end utility service for residential, industrial and commercial developments, spanning both the public and private sectors. It provides a full design, build and regulation service and is fully accredited in electricity, gas, water, telecoms and street lighting.
Headquartered in Glasgow, Energetics also has a regional office in Warrington and it has now signed a lease on a 15,645 sq ft warehouse/ office unit at Roman Park on Coleshill Industrial Estate, in the North Warwickshire town, creating a new hub for its regional operations in the heart of the UK. The energy firm is also planning to secure a further three satellite offices in the Midlands by 2013.
Bill McSheffery, Major Developments Manager for Energetics, said: “The Midlands is a key region for Energetics, as strategically it is the focus for our ongoing expansion plans. Although the business has its headquarters in Glasgow, almost half of all Energetics projects are in England and Wales. We have been active in the Midlands for some time now, and we are therefore well on the way to establishing a strong client base in the region, together with an enviable project portfolio.
“We believe the time is right to expand and commit to larger premises here in the Midlands, enabling us to build on this position and ensuring we can quickly capitalise on any opportunities – all of which will ultimately speed us toward our growth targets.
“At the heart of everything we do is our vision to be recognised as the number one utility provider and manager in the UK, for performance, reliability and safety; and as we continue to increase our presence throughout the Midlands, we are well on course to achieving this.”
Energetics’ commitment to the Midlands follows the completion of several major projects in the region, including ongoing commitments to the Regenerating North Solihull scheme. Here it delivered an electricity and gas infrastructure to two new villages at Craig Croft and North Arran Way, on behalf of client Bellway Homes.
Energetics has also delivered electricity, gas and water connections to the new Warwickshire College in Rugby, on behalf of St. Modwen. The landmark building uses many sustainable technologies including a wind turbine, photovoltaic cells, solar water heating, rainwater harvesting, combined heat and a power plant.
Energetics is now designing and installing the electricity, gas and water infrastructure for many of the major developers across the region including Morris Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Barratt and Keepmoat.
