A rolling investment programme by industrial property landlords SEGRO at the Beeches Industrial Estate in Yate near Bristol has helped secure key deals despite the downturn.
Chris Davies, of SEGRO said: “Quality accommodation is increasingly becoming a deciding factor in what remains a difficult market. The fact we can offer refurbished space is helping us push deals ahead despite lower volumes.
“Our investment programme is helping the Beeches maintain its edge as one of the better locations in the north of Bristol and supports the view that there are still good tenants to be found if the package is right.”
SEGRO owns four business parks around Bristol, which it operates as a cluster called bristolworks under an active management policy that allows businesses to move within the cluster and helps them with any required expansion or contraction in business.
Greggs has taken a unit from which it will be able to provide a range of hot and cold food for people who work on the Beeches Estate. The bakery has already opened non-retail locations in Avonmouth, Bridgwater, Exeter, Swansea and Cardiff.
Nearby, Motor racing transporter and hospitality specialists Brookland Speed has taken up extra space as part of its expansion programme.
The internationally renowned company manufactures bespoke trailers for the entire motorsport industry and boasts an impressive list of clients including Ferrari, Honda, Lotus and former world champion Nigel Mansell.
The company has now taken on 21,000 square feet of space to cope with an expanding order book.
