The youngest generation of the eponymous Gordon’s Wine Bar in London’s Villiers Street – widely thought to be the oldest wine bar in the Capital – have agreed a lease in the same street as they prepare to launch an all-day offering five doors down from the renowned drinking establishment.
Rose and Sophie Gordon, nieces of the current generation of Gordon’s Wine Bar owners, will run the new Villiers Bar & Café which will open shortly after a 25-year lease was agreed on the 923 sq ft restaurant by Cushman & Wakefield on behalf of DTZ Investment Management.
Sophie Gordon said: “Gordon’s Wine Bar is unique and whilst we are proud to be members of the Gordon family, Villiers Bar & Café is a completely separate venture… although we do hope to achieve the same level of success in the future!”
Villiers Bar & Café will offer a selection of high quality food and coffee and a carefully curated list of wine, beer and champagne.
