Key role in unlocking market town opportunities

Lincoln-based chartered surveyor Banks Long & Co has been tasked with using its expertise to secure first class businesses for a multi-million pound education, hospitality and business complex.

Boston College, which owns Spalding’s Red Lion Quarter, has instructed the agency to promote the availability of high quality serviced office suites, a retail unit and the former Sage Restaurant within the centre to potential new tenants, as it forges ahead with exciting new plans for the £7.5 million development.

Banks Long Director James Butcher said: “We are extremely pleased to have been asked to act on behalf of the College in offering an interesting range of opportunities within this superb contemporary development, as it moves forward into a new era.

“Entrepreneurs and growing businesses have the chance to join existing tenants who already enjoy the benefits of the high quality accommodation within the building.

“In addition to the fully-serviced office suites that are available on tenant-friendly flexible terms that make them ideal for start-up businesses, we are also looking for a tenant for the stunning former Sage Restaurant.

“This “ready to go” facility, which has been fitted out to an exceptionally high standard, is a tempting option for a private restaurateur or foodie business as there is an opportunity to work in partnership with the College in its training and other promotional events, by providing on site catering facilities on top of the
usual business operated from the restaurant during its opening hours.”

Boston College already provides training for 1,300 people at the Red Lion Quarter. The diverse range of subject areas available to study include ESOL, IT, Motor Vehicle, Teacher Training, Hair and Beauty, NEBOSH, English and Math and courses for the unemployed. More courses are due to start in
September.

Red Lion Quarter also offers state-of-the-art conference facilities for business and personal hire, available to book through the College.

This month, a Food Heritage display is due to open in the Atrium of the building, celebrating Spalding’s food growing and processing expertise.

Boston College, Spalding will be officially opening the doors to the brand new Hair and Beauty salon, Style Academy, and celebrating the launch of the Food Heritage displays on April 17.
