Innes England has expanded its building consultancy team following the continued growth of the division.
Tom Ridley has joined the commercial property firm to work in the team to provide building consultancy services to existing and new clients across the East Midlands.
Tom recently graduated with an honours degree in building surveying from Sheffield Hallam University, and previous to that studied planning and property development. Throughout his studies, Tom built his practical experience in the building industry by working for a construction company in Nottingham.
Innes England director Mike Thorne said: “I’m delighted to welcome Tom to the firm. The building consultancy team is now in its third year and has grown considerably since its inception with a large portfolio of clients.
“We want to drive this area of the business forward and continue to provide strategic and focused advice and deliver savings, increased efficiencies and favourable conclusions.
“Tom’s addition to the team will enable us to expand the volume of work we offer and ensure we continue to deliver an excellent quality of service to our clients.”
Innes England’s building consultancy team has been involved in a diverse range of projects across the East Midlands since it was established. The team has recently worked with Nottingham success story TDX to project manage its relocation to the award-winning Pod development in the city centre. The team also provided dilapidations advice and project management services on its former office space to minimise outgoing liability.
The team has also worked with The University of Nottingham on the design and project management of a new £200,000 gas fermentation laboratory. The facility optimises industrial gas fermentation for commercial low-carbon fuel and is the only facility of its type in the country.
Commenting on his new role, Tom said: “I have always been interested in the building industry and knew it was what I wanted to study at university. By studying and also working on the practical side of the trade, I hoped that I would work for a well-respected firm like Innes England when I graduated.
“I’m excited to be joining the busy building consultancy team and have the opportunity to work on complex projects as well as with highly experienced and skilled colleagues.”
Tom will be based in Nottingham but will cover work across all geographic areas working closely with teams in the Derby and Leicester offices.
