The cream of Worcestershire’s business community has marked a successful first six months for a commercial property consultancy which, uniquely, serves the whole of Worcestershire, as well as the M5 and A38 corridors.
More than 100 clients, contacts and fellow property professionals gathered at The King’s School in Worcester to celebrate the creation and first half year’s success of GJS Dillon LLP, a new firm of Chartered Surveyors, created by merging Worcester-based Guise Jones Sawyer and Bromsgrove-based JP Dillon.
The principals of Guise Jones Sawyer and JP Dillon, respectively Philip Jones and John Dillon, are both partners in the new five-strong firm.
GJS Dillon Partner Philip Jones said: “We have been so busy that it is only six months after the merger that we have we been able to find time to celebrate the creation of our new firm and its early successes. We have already enjoyed overwhelming support from our clients, suppliers and professional colleagues and we expect this to continue as we go from strength to strength.”
From its established offices in Worcester and Bromsgrove, GJS Dillon now provides unequalled coverage for its clients throughout north and south Worcestershire, and beyond, across all commercial property agency, acquisition consultancy, management, valuation and other disciplines, coupled with an emphasis on crisp, efficient, personal service.
Partner John Dillon said: “JP Dillon was best known for its industrial and office agency and Guise Jones Sawyer’s focus was on consultancy and professional surveying work, so our new firm is already providing an enhanced service for all its existing and new clients.”
Guise Jones Sawyer was one of the best known and longest established surveying firms in Worcester, led by Philip Jones for the past 15 years, who is himself one of the best known Chartered Surveyors in the county.
It managed a large portfolio of properties across the UK, providing consultancy, acquisition, valuation and general property advice to its clients which included public companies, industrial concerns and public and education sector organisations, such as The University of Worcester for which it made a number of key property acquisitions to help further its expansion.
Mr Jones is also Surveyor to The King’s School, Worcester, Honorary Surveyor to a number of charities and arts organisations, and property advisor to Worcester Consolidated Charities, the 500 year old city charity which has a property portfolio valued in excess of £10 million.
Founded by John Dillon, the former Director and Head of Office Agency at the Birmingham office of Lambert Smith Hampton, in only two years JP Dillon Commercial Property Consultants established itself as one of the county’s leading Chartered Surveyors, focusing on the sale, letting, acquisition and management of all types of commercial and industrial premises throughout Worcestershire and the M5 and A38 corridors.
In 2012 JP Dillon completed the largest office letting in Worcestershire for five years, with the disposal of more than 14,000 sq ft of office space at Avon House in Bromsgrove; agreed terms for the disposal of two major town centre regeneration sites for Bromsgrove District Council; and acquired new premises totalling more than 40,000 sq ft for local organisations.
