Business professionals from across Cambridgeshire joined forces recently when Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks hosted an event in Peterborough to discuss the local economy.
Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks’ Business and Private Banking team welcomed customers, professional services firms and organisations including Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce and Opportunity Peterborough to its Growing Business event held at the Kingsgate Conference Centre.
The networking lunch also gave the local business community the chance to get to know Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks’ team which is based at Church Street in Peterborough.
Simon Moore, who heads Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks’ team in Cambridgeshire, said the event was well received: “We’re pleased influential figures from the Cambridgeshire business community could join us for what was a worthwhile event. The overiding feeling in the room was that, while conditions remain challenging for businesses, there are success stories particularly from local companies which are exporting services to emerging markets.
“It was also positive to hear that Peterborough appears to be bucking the national trend in the retail market, with occupancy and trading very good while shops are closing in other parts of the country.
“The Bank announced its new leadership team serving businesses across Cambridgeshire at the end of last year and the event gave us a good opportunity to introduce some of the team to our customers and partners.
“The day also gave us the chance to highlight some of the initiatives Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks have launched to support business growth such as new fee-free mortgages and our Growing Business package which includes a £1bn Business Expansion Fund.”
