National property consultancy Carter Jonas is implementing a strategic shift for its business to further enhance its focus on the infrastructure sector.
As it prepares to embark on its new five-year strategic plan, effective from 1 May 2025, the firm’s Infrastructure, Energy, Marine, and Geospatial teams, currently part of the Rural division, will become a dedicated Infrastructure division.
Mark Hall-Digweed, Carter Jonas’ Head of Infrastructure, will lead this newly formed division and has taken a position on the firm’s Management Board, as of 1 November this year.
Under his leadership, the Infrastructure team has experienced substantial growth and now matches the size of the firm’s other key divisions – Commercial, Planning and Development, Residential and Rural. During this time, Carter Jonas has established itself as one of the main providers of property expertise in the UK’s infrastructure sector, with a dedicated team of over 220 professionals. The firm works with a diverse range of high-profile clients, including National Grid, National Highways, and Network Rail.
Building on a record of project delivery for a wide variety of clients in Scotland and recent framework awards from Scottish Power Electricity Networks (SPEN), Carter Jonas is committed to investing in Scotland and fulfilling the Infrastructure division’s ambition of a full UK-wide service provision for all clients.
To further support these mandates, and its commitment to delivering exceptional client service whilst fostering growth, Carter Jonas is set to open its first office in Scotland early next year and is actively recruiting for its team in Edinburgh. To service other significant infrastructure contracts in West Wales, the firm will also establish a presence in Swansea.
Richard Bruce, Chief Executive of Carter Jonas, said:
“The growth of our infrastructure services underscores the collective commitment and complementary expertise of our Rural and Infrastructure teams and represents a true success story for our business. Over the past fifteen years, both have collaborated to support the expansion of rural service lines and our infrastructure capabilities. This development will be instrumental in the progression of both key areas, in line with the next stage of our strategic plan, and it is a pleasure to welcome Mark to our board.”
Mark Hall-Digweed, Head of Infrastructure, Carter Jonas, said:
“The formation of a dedicated Infrastructure division is a natural evolution for Carter Jonas and reflects the growing demand for our expertise in this critical sector. As demonstrated by our move to open a new office in Scotland, we are committed to delivering the highest level of service to our clients. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”
