National Air Traffic Systems (‘NATS’) has appointed CBRE as sole agent for the sale of its eight acre [training] site on the edge of Bournemouth Airport. The site is currently made up of in excess of 90,000 sq ft of interlinking offices and training space but could be suitable for substantial redevelopment.
The prominent site is located 4.5 miles East of Bournemouth town centre on the outskirts of Hurn village, approached from the main airport access road. In addition to the existing offices, there is also a separate canteen building and storage facility and the site has D1 planning permission as well as over 400 onsite parking spaces.
CBRE Associate Director, Emma Lockey comments: “This is a prominent site adjacent to the airport which could be redeveloped to incorporate a number of uses. We are very pleased have been instructed by NATS as we believe that there is great potential for new occupiers to develop the site and create bespoke accommodation.”
Commenting on the appointment, David Cockeram, Estates Surveyor, NATS said: “We decided to put this site out to a competitive pitch and all agents had strong credentials. We felt that CBRE’s national network coupled with its strong local knowledge made it the best choice for this strategic site.”
