A forward-thinking company which specialises in business improvement techniques has been shortlisted for two prestigious industry awards.
KM&T, which has its UK headquarters in Coventry, along with its external partner Interview Coordinator will be competing against high-profile companies Mars Chocolate UK, Matalan and Ovo Energy in the Recruiter Awards for Excellence 2013.
The company has been named in the Best Candidate Experience and Onboarding category and the award winners will be announced at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London, on Wednesday, May 1.
KM&T is also celebrating being shortlisted in the Best Online Candidate Experience section of the ninth Onrec (Online Recruitment Resource) awards which will be unveiled on Thursday, March 21 at Grange St Paul’s Hotel in London.
Steve Boam, founder and chief executive officer of KM&T, said both nominations centred around its partnership work with Interview Coordinator which focus on a new effective process for interviewing potential members of staff.
He said: “We are renowned nationally and internationally as being specialists in assessing businesses and introducing methods to help organisations run more efficiently – and we have applied the same technique to our interviews.
“We have started working with Interview Coordinator to use their software to assess candidates which reduces administration and duplicating effort before introducing online video technology to test their experience, knowledge, skills and energy with minimal effort and cost.
“Using video technology means candidates don’t have to take time off work or travel to our premises and their responses can be viewed by our managers and HR department in any time zone since we have offices throughout the world.
“We then invite successful candidates to a second interview face-to-face but by then we know they have the necessary skills for the vacant post.
“Our innovation has created a process which matches our beliefs and values of business methodology and by using Interview Coordinator’s software, we have revolutionised the way we carry out our recruitment.
“This has led to successful and unsuccessful candidates having a positive view of KM&T and in a busy world, we have proved that not only do we employ the best people but it is also a way of working which works for us and our potential employees.
“It has proved to be such a success that we have adopted the same way of interviewing in our offices across Europe, North America and Australia.
“Continuous improvement is an integral part of KM&T’s ethos and these award nominations emphasise that as an organisation, we’re constantly looking for ways to improve every aspect of what we do.”
