HBD, part of Henry Boot, has let 6,178 sq. ft. at its Workstown development to Perfect Goods Distribution.
The wholesaler has moved into Unit 2A; the fourth business to take occupation within the first phase of the development, delivered in partnership by HBD and Enfield Council.
The £150m joint venture has seen the comprehensive redevelopment of the former Montagu Industrial Estate in Edmonton, creating Workstown; a modern, sustainable industrial and logistics scheme. The first phase created 60,000 sq. ft. of new space across nine units. Plans are currently underway for further phases of the development, with outline planning consent expected in the coming weeks.
Located to the north of the A406, the 29-acre site is being developed in phases and, when complete, will deliver more than 250,000 sq. ft. of employment space, while creating hundreds of new jobs.
There are just two remaining units at Workstown of 4,101 sq. ft. and 7,352 sq. ft.
Adrian Schofield, Head of Region at HBD, said: “Workstown is a great example of brownfield regeneration done well, creating modern, sustainable space for growing SMEs. When complete, it will have created hundreds of new jobs. We’re pleased to be able to welcome Perfect Goods Distribution to Workstown, and I’ve no doubt it will prove a successful location as their business grows.”
He continued: “70% was under offer at Workstown before phase one completed, which reflects the great location and the quality of the development. We are now working on plans for the second phase of development and look forward to getting those into planning in the coming months.”
