A family business has recorded its best year of trading since the company was founded.
Almeda Facilities Ltd, which is based in Bristol, saw revenue surpass its previous record year and leadership at the company say they signed off their latest year end accounts with turnover around £7.3m and a healthy EBITDA.
Brady Savage-George, who is the Managing Director of the business, says that a ‘painstakingly obsessive’ approach to customer service and ever-changing requirements in the teeth of the pandemic, has influenced the positive trading period.
Brady comments: ‘It was an extremely challenging time, and the pandemic is in the past, but how we reacted then has shaped who we are now. Britain’s buildings still needed to be looked after and the team worked around the clock to go over and above for our customers. We then came out of the pandemic with tighter processes and systems, enabling us to continue to provide competitive prices for our longstanding customers, meeting their evolving needs at a time of high inflation and uncertainty.’
Formed in 1981 as an electrical contracting company, Brady’s father Gary George re-launched Almeda in 2007 as a total facilities management provider and swooped up major clients wins such as @Bristol, Arnolfini, Bristol & Bath Science Park, SS Great Britain.
Almeda now works with business spanning multiple sectors from manufacturing through to commercial office environments.
Brady joined the company at the age of 23, before taking over as Managing Director in 2015. In his spare time regularly competes in Ironman and other endurance races.
The business currently employs 66 staff, with plans to continue recruiting as the company grows.
Richard Frost, who is the Technical Director at Almeda concludes: ‘Our focus in the next few years will be to connect with new local customers and we’ll also be rolling out a series of exciting events and initiatives to help in lifting the fog around statutory compliance in building services post covid to share with fellow industry professionals.’
