Leading flex office operator, Cubo, continues to deliver on exciting plans to roll-out its brand nationally, with the acquisition of a new circa 20,000 sq. ft workspace in Glasgow.
Agreements have been exchanged between the landlord, Forma Real Estate Fund and Cubo to take the entire second floor of Aurora at 120 Bothwell Street in the city’s prime office location.
The new Cubo offering will feature circa 20,000 sq. ft of office accommodation, with around 350 desks set to be available.
Aurora has been developed by Forma and development partner HFD Group and is a stunning comprehensive refurbishment of the 175,000 sq. ft corporate office HQ which sits in the heart of Glasgow’s central business district and the city’s International financial district.
It is surrounded by a vibrant and eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, along with retail, fitness centres and hotels. It has direct access to the city’s public transport links and parking facilities, which has made the location home to many of the city’s key businesses.
This refurbishment includes a rooftop terrace, wellness area and fitness studio, plus extensive and very high-quality amenities for the occupier including an auditorium, townhall meeting space and podcast studio.
Cubo’s arrival in Glasgow will be its second venture in Scotland, with Cubo Edinburgh opening in July 2023 at 40 Princes Street.
The new Glasgow workspace will officially open its doors in April 2024 and will be the twelfth location in the Cubo portfolio. There has already been significant interest from corporate businesses looking to be based in one of the city’s most high-profile buildings.
Cubo is transforming the traditional serviced office model. It provides an experience-led lifestyle offer to meet the changing needs of businesses – from hot desking to a designated desk, private office, or entire floor.
Member benefits include large communal spaces, private areas, break-out spaces, kitchens, an inclusive barista service with beer and prosecco on tap, along with a programme of free networking events.
As a result, Cubo is rapidly becoming the location of choice for SMEs, tech companies and corporates looking for a world class environment where they can develop and thrive and is attracting an enticing mix of businesses.
Commenting on the new Glasgow space, Marc Brough, CEO at Cubo, said:
“We are very excited to have secured what we believe is the best-in-class new Grade A space in Glasgow and look forward to launching Cubo in April this year.
“Our Edinburgh workspace continues to go from strength to strength and following openings in Manchester and Newcastle in late 2023, we see Glasgow as a critical piece in our plan to gain representation in all of the UK’s core city centres.”
Commenting on the most recent letting, Ben Dickins – UK Head of Asset Management at Forma, said:
“The integration of Cubo as the serviced office provider at Aurora provides further support to our wider occupiers to facilitate either organic growth or project space.
The comprehensive refurbishment of Aurora and the delivery of a smart and highly sustainable office is continuing to be attractive to a wide range of corporate occupiers.
This letting to Cubo represents our second letting and although we have advanced tenant interest in further space in the building the opportunity remains for forward thinking occupiers to join us on this journey.
