One of the UK’s leading online and catalogue marketers and manufacturers of business products has acquired new premises in Dorset.
Leasing a 44,151 sq ft industrial unit with first-floor offices marks a significant milestone in the ongoing strategic development of Poole Bay Holdings Management Ltd, which oversees multiple brands and websites.
The company, which employs more than 200 staff and was founded 23 years ago, signed a 10-year lease at 22 Broom Road, Tower Park, Poole.
To date, the company receives more than 300,000 orders annually, ranging from £5 to £500,000 for either off-the-peg or bespoke products.
Property consultancy Vail Williams acted on behalf of the building’s private landlord in the transaction, one of the largest industrial deals in Dorset this year.
In recent months, and with 30,000 products across 20 niche sites, Poole Bay Holdings Management Ltd recognised the need for expanded manufacturing facilities to support its ambitious growth plans.
This led the company, which has a head office and distribution centre at Fleets Corner Business Park in Poole, to explore options for additional space to consolidate and streamline its manufacturing and dispatch operations.
Over the next months the manufacturing and dispatch departments of the Group will be completing transitions to the newly acquired site at Tower Park.
This relocation will not only enhance the efficiency and capacity of these essential operations but also play a crucial role in job creation within the Poole area, the company said.
The additional industrial unit will complement operations at the head office, resulting in more roles across various functions.
“We are committed to optimising our operations and locations to support our growth and development,” said John Churchill, Operations Director at Poole Bay Holdings Management Ltd.
“Our investment in these new premises is a testament to our dedication to our customers and our long-term vision for the company.”
As part of this strategic transition, Poole Bay Holdings Management Ltd announced that various manufacturing units will be officially known as PBH Manufacturing Limited.
This decision is “rooted in a desire to foster a closer connection among teams within the organisation while enhancing the overall sense of group identity”.
John said: “We believe that bringing all our manufacturing facilities under the PBH banner will foster a stronger sense of unity and cohesion within our Group.
“This rebranding represents an important step towards achieving our goals and solidifying our position in the market.”
David Cowling, a Vail Williams Partner working out of the Bournemouth office, said: “We wish Poole Bay Holdings Management Ltd every deserved success at 22 Broom Road – this is one of the largest industrial deals of its kind in Dorset this year and is testament to local manufacturing excellence and resilience.”
He recently acted for the landlord of a neighbouring industrial unit, 20 Broom Road, earlier this year – CT Production, an electronics manufacturing contractor, signed a 10-year lease on the detached 21,602 sq ft industrial unit.
Poole Bay Holdings Management Ltd stressed that it remains committed to delivering high-quality products and services to its customers while continuously striving for growth and innovation.
The company says it will continue to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition and maximise the benefits of the strategic investment.
