A new KFC Drive-Thru for Somerset which is due to open early next year is taking shape at Summerfield owned Westpark 26 near Wellington where the steel frame for the single storey building is now clearly visible.
Following planning approval for the drive-thru restaurant, builders Devon Contractors have completed the foundations and most of the ground works on the last plot available along the A38 boundary of the popular, 40-acre business park.
As well as the restaurant, the site will have parking for 32 vehicles and thanks to an arrangement with sustainable energy company GRIDSERVE, there will be 12 EV charging points.
When complete, the KFC drive-thru will be an additional amenity for occupiers on the park as well as visitors and add a further 30 jobs to more than 1,000 that have been created already in sectors ranging from healthcare and hospitality, to distribution and manufacturing.
Ben Trickey, Commercial Director at Summerfield Commercial, said: “It is always exciting to see a building coming out of the ground when it has only been on paper before. We are pleased to welcome KFC as a great addition to the park and also delighted to be able to offer charging facilities to the drivers of electric vehicles.
“Whilst this build continues for KFC, we also have further exciting developments at Westpark 26 with two large warehouse units now available and a further 16 new build units coming soon, all ideal for new, growing or relocating businesses.”
Units A7 & A14 are interconnected end of terrace units over two floors, offering a combined 5,192sq ft / 482 sq m and are suitable for a range of light industrial uses with full fit out options.
Plot 19 is another large-scale new development of two facing terraces of 16 new build units offering flexible, high quality and energy efficient commercial space. Ranging from 1,755 sq ft (163 sq m) to 32,578 sq ft (3,026 sq m), the units are available on a for sale or let basis.
