Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust (FLCT) has secured a new occupier at one of its thriving business parks in Hampshire. Lenovo, a global technology powerhouse and the world’s largest PC company, has relocated from Chineham Park, owned by Frasers Property UK, to a 20,000 sq ft office at FLCT’s Farnborough Business Park that overlooks Farnborough Airport.
Frasers Property UK and FLCT are both part of Frasers Property Group.
Lenovo’s new office at Farnborough Business Park is home to its UK headquarters and the company has been working closely with Frasers Property UK on a new fit-out to ensure it is an attractive space that employees want to spend time in and functions well to meet the team’s needs.
The move has been made to bring the office closer to employees, to facilitate the company’s growing workforce, and to improve the working space for all teams.
Stephen Higgins, Director of Real Estate at Lenovo, said: “Beyond the commercial considerations of a lease negotiation there are many factors to assess when it comes to selecting a property to meet our future business needs. As an existing tenant of Frasers Property, the relationship with the landlord is vitally important to me and our RE Partners at JLL. We have been together for many years, both as Lenovo and as Motorola, and I have always found the team there most professional, capable, and creative; able to deliver the right solutions for us over that time.
“Against the backdrop of the unknowns coming out of the pandemic, what has impressed me most about Farnborough Business Park is Frasers Property’s commitment and ongoing investment in sustainability to achieve net carbon zero for 2030, which aligns perfectly with Lenovo’s own science-based targets settings.
“The park is recognised as one of the best in the UK for green spaces, with Green Flag accreditation, and is the first park with FITWEL 3 stars in the world. With most of the portfolio achieving BREEAM status, the sympathetic repurpose of unique listed industrial buildings, and over 100 years of aviation innovations, plus a Norman Foster building overlooking the airport runways, Farnborough Business Park is just a ‘wow’ location.
“Our move represents an exciting next step for Lenovo as we further develop our UK operations. We wanted a location that would provide a smarter workplace for all and a space for creativity within our team, and a fantastic fit out from AREA delivering Lenovo technology gives us a sense of purpose and belonging.”
Christina Cosgrove, Asset Manager at Frasers Property UK, said: “It’s fantastic to welcome Lenovo to the Norman Foster building at Farnborough Business Park. The first-class office space has access to exemplary facilities and strong transport connections. We’re looking forward to welcoming the Lenovo team to join our community and experience our busy event calendar, including charity events, outdoor exercise classes, and many food and drink pop-ups.”
Frasers Property UK was represented by Hollis Hockley and CBRE. Lenovo was represented by JLL.
