Savills, on behalf of St John’s College Oxford, has let office space at 29 Beaumont Street in Oxford to Design Storey Architects.
The architects practice agreed to a new lease on the ground floor of the building, paying a rent per sq ft in the mid-50s. Originally based in Cheltenham, the firm moved to Oxford in order to take advantage of the city’s significant talent pool.
Following the success at number 29, 28 Beaumont Street has also been split into smaller suites to let on a floor by floor basis starting from 550 sq ft. At present a further two floors are under offer, with strong interest in the remaining available space.
Liv Thomas, surveyor in the business space team at Savills Oxford, comments: “Since the pandemic we have seen an increase in demand for smaller office suites as people continue to split their time between work and home, especially those with their own business who are keen to strike a healthy work life balance by retaining workspace. As a result, we advised St John’s College on a new strategy to let the attractive Grade II buildings situated within Oxford city centre. Prior to this 28 Beaumont Street was sat vacant, but has since seen considerable interest in the remaining available suites following the reconfiguration.”
