Biamp, a global leading in the provision of professional audio-visual solutions, has announced the relocation of its UK headquarters to Brighton. The fit-out to its three-floors of offices on Middle Street in the centre of city was carried out by BRAC Contracts.
Having previously been located in central London, the Covid pandemic led the Biamp team to assess its office requirements which led to the firm’s recent relocation. Brighton proved to be the ideal base given its proximity to both London and Gatwick, and several of the team already lived close-by. The city’s young demographic and strong education links also meant that the company could be assured of a skilled future workforce.
The ground, first- and second-floors in the four-storey building were all vacant and provided Biamp with a blank canvas from which it could create a space that’s not only welcoming to its 25-strong UK team, but also to its global customer base. Stephen Patterson, Sales Director at Biamp, explains:
“The events of recent years made us evaluate our office needs and Brighton ticked so many boxes for us. Whilst it would have been easy to opt for an off-the-peg, ready renovated office, we were keen to inject the team’s personality into this new base and that’s what we’ve done.
“Middle Street is perfectly located, and this building offered us a blank canvas from which we could create an open, airy environment. The outside 25 sqm decking area is a particular favourite with the team.”
The Category-B fit-out work carried out by BRAC Contracts included the installation of new air-conditioning, new toilet and kitchen facilities, two glass-fronted meeting areas, a bar area and an auditorium for customer demonstrations. The outside decking area that has proved so popular was also given a full refurbishment.
Commenting on the work, Stephen continues:
“We were introduced to BRAC Contracts through Flude, the property agent that we were working with. They were able to show us other recent projects of a similar nature in Brighton that the team had delivered which meant we got first-hand insight into the way they worked.
“However, it was when we met Tony Saxby, the project manager, and Adam Clark, BRAC’s MD, that we were really convinced that they were the team for us. I’m a stickler for the finer detail in projects of this kind and I felt confident that Tony and Adam both appreciated this. They’re both straightforward and possess a can-do attitude.”
Concluding, Adam Clark MD at BRAC Contracts said:
“Brighton is quickly becoming our second home, and this is the third major fit-out project we’ve delivered in the city in recent months. When a client takes on a blank canvas, they entrust us to deliver on the vision that they have.
“This is something we take utmost pride in doing and are particularly pleased with this three-floor transformation for the Biamp team.”
