Individuals who want to take the first steps to starting their own business can attend a series of free one-day workshops through the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber’s Enterprise Start Team is holding a series of free sessions to help explore the skills and commitments needed to establish a business as well as looking more in depth at finances, marketing and legals.
Following the workshops, individuals will also be entitled to a free business mentoring service to help plan and get the company off the ground.
The workshops are being run on several dates over the course of January, February and March at the Willenhall Education, Employment and Training Centre in Coventry and the Hatters Space Community Centre in Nuneaton.
The project is being part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, Warwickshire County Council and Coventry City Council forming part of the Coventry & Warwickshire Enterprise and Business Growth Package.
Howard Andersen, of the Chamber, said: “More and more individuals are looking into the possibility of starting their own business.
“Over recent years, when big companies have made large scale redundancies it has been apparent that more people are exploring the option of ‘going it alone.’
“Here at the Chamber we can offer practical support and advice to those who want to start their own company. These free courses offer a little taster and then, from there, we can offer further help including mentoring.
“I would, therefore, encourage anyone thinking of starting their own business to get in touch.”
